Cirio advises the Scandinavian Biogas group in connection with its establishment in Germany and in its investment in a bio-LNG plant in Mönsterås
Cirio has advised the Scandinavian Biogas group when establishing subsidiaries in Germany and initiating the development of two production plants in Germany with a combined capacity of approximately 240 GWh. The final investment decisions are estimated to be made in 2024 and the total investment is estimated at approximately EUR 90 million.
In addition, Cirio has advised in a SEK 760 million investment (including procurement) made by the Scandinavian Biogas group in a new bio-LNG plant in Mönsterås, with a capacity of approximately 120 GWh. The biogas project will be developed in collaboration with local farmers and the production is planned to start in Q4 2024. Recognising the project’s environmental benefits, achieve a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s program Klimatklivet has granted investment support of SEK 154 million to the project.
Entering the strategically important German market and establishing a biogas facility in Mönsterås are important steps towards the Scandinavian Biogas group’s ambition to build a strong pipeline of potential biomethane plant projects in Northern Europe.
