What made you apply to Cirio?

– I had heard a lot about Cirio being an innovative law firm, which also had a solid history and top-ranked practice groups. Then, when I was a summer clerk at Cirio during the summer of 2020, my positive impression was reinforced, and it was impossible not to notice the familial atmosphere that exists at the firm. Additionally, after getting to know everyone, it became even more obvious that this was the firm I should apply to, which I did the same autumn.

What is the most important thing you have learned here at Cirio?

– You learn an incredible amount through the work itself, but an important thing early in your career is to have the courage to take on new challenges and venture into uncharted waters. In my workgroup, you quickly gain trust and have direct client contact, which wasn’t something I had expected as a student. Therefore, it’s important to have confidence in your legal method, even though everything may initially feel unfamiliar.

What’s the most fun part about working at Cirio?

– The most enjoyable aspects of life at Cirio are primarily the clients and colleagues. The work is incredibly exciting and challenging, and that leads to continuous development. There’s a high level of trust at the firm and one gets the opportunity to step forward and take a central role in cases early in one’s career. That’s definitely the case in the data protection group where I work. Additionally, we have fun together, which I believe is related to the tone set by the partners, enabling everyone to assert themselves.

How do you see your future in the legal industry?

– I really like it here at Cirio and hope to have a long career here where I can continue to grow in the role of an advisor. My next step is to join the Bar Association and thereby attain my title as a lawyer, which I hope to achieve by the year 2024.

What made you apply to Cirio?

– I was a summer clerk here during the summer of 2019. I got a really great impression of the firm right away and liked the familiar atmosphere. So when I finished law school, it was an easy choice to apply for a job here. I also like the size of the firm – it’s big enough to have interesting clients and assignments, but also small enough to have a familiar atmosphere where everyone knows each other.

What is the most important thing you have learned here at Cirio?

– Understanding what the client needs. As a student, your focus is often on determining what is ‘right,’ but when you’re working at a law firm it’s important to be an advisor. Our clients want to accomplish things, so in addition to finding out what’s right, they also need advice on how to move forward and achieve their goals.

What’s the most fun part about working at Cirio?

– Having fun at work is an important factor; many of my colleagues are also my personal friends, whom I spend time with outside of work. We also do a lot of things together, both within our individual work groups – I’m in the Banking & Finance group – and across the entire firm. From a professional perspective, it’s gratifying that even as a newbie, you’re given responsibility early on, which surprised me. I had the impression that I would mostly be in the background during the first few years, but here, you quickly get to take responsibility of your own work flow and have client contact, which is very developmental.

How do you see your future in the legal industry?

– I am very happy where I am today. A long-term goal I have always had is to become the ‘best’ at something, meaning that I’m  the person to call, when the clients need specific help. Sometime in the future, it would also be fun to go on secondment and try being on the client side; it would probably provide valuable insights and make me a better advisor. However, at present, Cirio is the perfect place for me.

What made you apply to Cirio?

– When I started in 2016, Cirio was still part of Lindahl. Towards the end of my studies, I was set on getting a position at a commercial law firm. At that time, I worked part-time with a girl who had been a summer clerk at Lindahl’s Stockholm office (which became Cirio), and she only had good things to say about the firm. So, that was a contributing factor in why I applied for a job here.

What is the most important thing you have learned here at Cirio?

– One could say that I’ve learned how to be a professional lawyer here at Cirio, with all that entails. From my education, I brought along the foundational knowledge of the legal craft, which I have continuously developed while working. At the firm, I’ve, of course, also learned how to act as a lawyer – that is, how to best communicate with clients, lawyer ethics, and so forth. Additionally, I’m constantly learning about the various operations and industries where our clients operate.

What’s the most fun part about working at Cirio?

– First of all, it’s all the friendly colleagues; I’ve made many great friends here at Cirio. Secondly, it’s the work itself, which in my case involves dealing with disputes. There’s a thrill in negotiations, pleading in court, and examining witnesses. Also, I find many of the “un-exciting” parts of the job enjoyable in their own way. I like to analyze and present problems in a way that’s as accessible as possible to the client.

How do you see your future in the legal industry?

– I want to continue working as a lawyer at Cirio, while getting better at what I do, and develop in my profession. Lawyers are often appointed as arbitrators in arbitration proceedings, which is something I’ve been curious about for a long time and would like to do in the future.

What made you apply to Cirio?

– Early on, when I was a student, I was focused on working at a larger commercial law firm, and the areas I was most interested in were financing and insolvency. Cirio is one of the few larger firms that work with both financing and insolvency, and is also very prominent in both areas. Additionally, I had an old classmate who worked at Cirio and had a lot of good things to say about the firm, which of course weighed heavily.

What is the most important thing you have learned here at Cirio?

– I primarily work with financing and large transactions, often at a high pace, so the most important lesson is probably how to collaborate with different individuals and manage large projects efficiently. In our role, we are expected to constantly drive the projects forward. As a student, you learn the law, but at work, you learn about different industries and how to handle many different types of clients in a way that leaves them satisfied.

Another practical aspect was that I’ve been able to develop my English significantly. This is valuable because the transactions we work on are often international, and the vast majority of the documentation we work with is in English.

What’s the most fun part about working at Cirio?

– It’s probably the fact that the work is so diverse; you get to work on a wide range of things. It’s fun to be involved in large transactions when things are moving quickly and you’re part of a team working together. When everyone is eager to pitch in and work towards common goals.

How do you see your future in the legal industry?

– I really enjoy working here at Cirio and feel that I can grow here. That’s the advantage of working at a law firm; you’re expected to learn new things all the time. As long as I feel that I’m progressing, Cirio is where I want to work.
