Cirio announces the conclusion of a business transfer agreement regarding Re:NewCell AB’s business in Ortviken, Sundsvall, with Altor.

Re:NewCell AB, 556885-6206, (“ReNewCell“) was declared bankrupt on February 26, 2024. Attorney Lars-Henrik Andersson at Cirio was appointed as the official receiver. Re:NewCell operates in textile recycling and pulp production and is an important player in the industry globally through their patented technology to break down cellulose in cotton and viscose textiles. The agreement with Altor secures the continued business, including operation of the plant and that the technology will be kept intact. Consequently, the business will continue to contribute to a more sustainable fashion industry.
